Buyer Tip 1: Understand Ebay - When 1st using Ebay try to understand how it works by going through the site and looking at the listings. Look at how people are selling items, look at the difference in prices, look at how you can purchase items, etc. By understanding ebay you will begin to discover how use it safely and possibly find good deals.
Buyer Tip 2: How to search for items - Searching for items on ebay can be a skill in itself. There are many hidden items that will give you good prices. Take your time to evaluate what your specific item is selling for and has sold for then watch it over the next couple of days or even a week or 2 in order to find the best deal.
Buyer Tip 3: How to find the best price - Find the best price for an item by searching for completed listings (items that have sold), looking for listings scheduled at the wrong time, look for misspelled listings, jump in at the last minute to buy, and there are many other ways. Just make sure you don't get impatient and take the 1st item you see.
Buyer Tip 4: View completed listings for Price - Do a search on completed listings and you can find out how much items have sold over the last couple of days. This is helpful in determining what your item is selling for and what you should bid. If you under bid and get the item then you know you have probably made a good deal.
Buyer Tip 5: View completed listings for similar item sold - If you are unable to find your item in the completed listings then do a search on similar items sold. You can use this to your advantage in placing a competitive bid
Buyer Tip 6: Read the fine print - Make sure you read the fine print on the item you are buying. Sometimes the item is broken OR not what it seems.
Buyer Tip 7: Don't BID right away - Bidding right away only drives the price up and let's others know that there is multiple interest in an item. Wait until the last minute before bidding.
Buyer Tip 8: Search new listing for great deals - Some items have a "Buy it now" option where you can buy the item right away. The Great Deals are snatched up right away so always search for the new listings for your item.
Buyer Tip 9: Avoid Fraud - Fraud happens daily on EBaY, so avoid it by looking at sellers negative feedbacks, looking at how many feedbacks a seller has, the location of the seller, the communication of the seller, the description, etc.
Buyer Tip 10: View feedbacks - By taking a look at the sellers feedbacks you can see if they have had any negative reactions with any customers. This can be a warning sign if you see multiple negatives OR can be positive if you have seen 100+ positive feedbacks.
